Off the starting blocks
A perfect example of how diligently and effectively Kingfisher Guarding Services can react to a last minute client request would be The London 2012 Olympics.
Having received an urgent telephone call on a Thursday from Ventbrook Events, we were asked to provide a fully briefed team of 32 car parking stewards by the following Tuesday. We needed to provide the very best people possible located at Heathrow Airport car park to assist the Olympians, and their families, and a fleet of chauffeur driven BMWs that would transport medal-winning hopefuls onto the Olympic Village. Within only 4 days we had a team ready to take on their own challenge. With only one supervisor present from our client’s team, Kingfisher Guarding Services provided a 35-strong team of stewards and operational management to ensure this contract ran as smoothly as possible.
Our client was completely satisfied with how we delivered high quality solutions at such short notice and for such a high-profile and important occasion.
Coming back for more
Kingfisher Guarding Services are proud of how we win so much repeat business through our consistently outstanding performance.
Back in 2013, Green Events contracted Kingfisher Guarding Services to man the safety towers and monitor an 8 mile parameter fence line at what is probably the most iconic and much loved music festival in Europe. We provided a dedicated team of 40 security guards and events stewards who worked tirelessly for 5 days to keep festival-goers and venue staff as safe as possible. Our client was incredibly impressed with how we deployed our staff, demonstrated high quality operational execution and had the welfare of our staff at heart in challenging outdoor conditions.
On the back of the impressive security and stewarding team we provided and their outstanding performance, we were asked to recruit and manage a team of 154 staff for the 2014 festival. It was a real honour to be asked back and we put together an exceptional team of professional people who delivered everything that was asked of them and more – exceeding our client’s expectations again. Ensuring safety at all points for revellers, venue staff and our own team, once again we demonstrated our operational expertise as well as delivering a great customer service experience for everyone.
Sniffing out bad security
Retail security is crucial to any retailer’s success and back in December 2012, Kingfisher Guarding Services were contracted to take over the security of a well-known, London-based perfume retailer. During the busy Christmas period, the retail management soon saw the benefits of using our services over that of our predecessor.
In no time at all, we had created a great working relationship with the store management team, liaising with them on an individual basis, dealing with the general public in a positive and friendly manner - but also dealing with conflict and difficult customers at times. Our trained and effective security team kept people and products safe and the level of theft within the store rapidly decreased. We matched the right staff to fit with the requirements of the store management team and it worked well; so much in fact, that when we started in 2012 we were on a 6 month probationary period, but we are still keeping shoppers, staff and stock safe today.
Going that extra mile for our people (quite literally)
Here at Kingfisher Guarding Services we take the wellbeing of our staff very seriously indeed. Our management team really do value the contributions each and every one of our staff make to our business and we feel that we need to support them wholeheartedly in what can sometimes be a role that brings about its own risks.
Some time ago, one of our security staff had an unfortunate accident which caused a head injury and needed hospital treatment. Thankfully the store manager was able to call for an ambulance and call us here at Kingfisher Guarding to let us know what had happened to a member of our team. We immediately left for the hospital to ensure that he was being well taken care of. We also made sure that his family had been informed, that he had food and drink aplenty and asked if there was anything else he needed. He mentioned to us that his (rather expensive and much-loved) bike was still at the store and our operational manager didn’t hesitate to take his key and rescue his bike, planning to bring it back by taxi. However, the bike didn’t fit into the taxi and the front wheel was not attached and needed a tool, so our heroic ops manager carried this stationary bike all the way back to the hospital for him! Not many employers would go to such lengths for their staff, but we do because we are ‘wheelie’ nice people!
What our clients say:
We have been exceptionally happy with the services provided by Kingfisher Guarding. The guards maintain a professional but friendly approach when on duty, and take the time to get to know the students and event organisers. They are thorough with their duties and have dealt with any issues promptly and appropriately. Students are always pleased to see Greg or Ash when we have events!
